Senior Integration Technician


Responsibilities of Position:

Installs, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies components, parts, equipment, and systems for Space Flight programs. Performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed. Performs recurring work independently and work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.

Builds, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs equipment and structural/mechanical Space Flight hardware.

Lead technician for the manufacture, integration and test of instrument mechanical, electrical, thermal or mechanism hardware and possess experience with aerospace methods (contamination/cleaning, handling, etc.)

Demonstrate applicable knowledge of and work experience with issues related to, but not limited to, aerospace systems, contamination and cleaning procedures, and handling and assembly of flight mechanisms and mechanical, thermal or electrical hardware.

Performs preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.

Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling equipment and Space Flight hardware.

Constructs components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment. May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.

Follows specific layouts and diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.

Selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and records test data.

Tests equipment, using standard test equipment and procedures, and analyzes results to evaluate performance. Determines if adjustments to equipment are necessary. Makes minor modifications in test setups or procedures as appropriate.

Assists in design modification by compiling data related to the design, specifications, and materials needed.

Gathers information on parts or equipment concerning previous operational failures and modifications.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Scope:

To assist in the fabrication, assembly, integration, testing and transportation of Space Flight systems.

Must demonstrate at least 10 years of specific discipline, aerospace experience, and demonstrable team leadership experience for a team of at least 3 people.

Work is to be performed in the Washington D.C. area.

No travel is currently required for this position.

Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:

Must be able to secure a Secret clearance classification

Must be a United States Citizen

Experience and Education:

Shall, as a minimum, possess a high school diploma.

10 years of experience and specialization in the manufacture, integration and testing of either mechanical, electrical, thermal or mechanism space flight instrument-related hardware.

Must possess demonstrable team leadership experience for a team of at least 3 people.

Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
