ABOUT THIS POSITION
This is a part-time position.
If you are an experienced Site Security Officer who enjoys travel, we want to hear from you!
This role entails traveling to multiple domestic project locations to perform safety officer duties at U.S. military facilities.
Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log
Run safety meetings and toolbox sessions
Maintain OSHA Form 300 for prime and sub-contractors
Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site
Maintain MSDS records
SME on personal protective equipment (PPE) use
Implement and enforce accepted APP’s and AHA’s
Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors deficiencies until resolution
Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety, health and environmental requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
High School Diploma plus technical training in Safety or technical field is required
Five (5) years of continuous construction industry safety experience in supervising/managing general construction or
Five (5) years of continuous general industry safety experience in supervising/managing general industry (managing safety programs, processes or conducting hazard analyses, etc.) or
If the SSHO has a Third-Party, Nationally Accredited (ANSI or National Commission for Certifying Agencies - NCCA) SOH-related certification, only 4 years of experience is needed
Other Required Skills:
Must have completed the 30-hour OSHA Construction safety class or as an equivalent, 30 hours of formal construction safety and health training.
Must be able to gain access to U.S. military installations, candidates with existing credentials preferred
Travel: 100% U.S. travel
Experience in the UMCS/HVAC/Facilities construction and/or maintenance and services fields is desired
Excellent oral and written communications
Ability to work well with a team and different functional groups
