The selected candidate will serve as HX-21 Instructor Pilot in the TH-57C helicopter and as Platform Coordinator for assigned TH-57C assets. The position involves planning and execution of training and currency requirements for squadron TH-57C pilots. Specific duties include:- Conducting ground and flight training (day/night Familiarization, Instrument, Autorotation, and NVG operations) in support of TH-57C NATOPS qualifications for squadron pilots.- Performing annual flight evaluations (NATOPS and Instrument) for TH-57C pilots.- Conducting Functional Check Flights in the TH-57C.- Coordinating with maintenance department for support of program objectives and asset availability.This positionalso serves as HX-21 Assistant Operations Officer, whose tasks include supporting the HX-21 Operations Department in qualifications, currency, planning, and scheduling of assigned USN, USMC, Government and Contractor personnel conducting Developmental Testing of USN/USMC rotary wing and tilt-rotor aircraft.Education: This position requires a candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of flight experience.Experience/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:The selected applicant must have a minimum of 50 hours in the TH-57/H-58 helicopter. A current or former designation as a NATOPS Instructor Pilot in any rotary wing aircraft is required. The selected individual for this position must have a current or former designation to conduct Instrument Flight evaluations (Instrument Flight Board). A current or previous qualification in the use of Night Vision Devices is also required.Favorable consideration will be given to applicants with:
Qualifications as Instructor Pilot, NATOPS Instructor/Evaluator, Instrument Instructor/Evaluator, and/or Functional Check Flight Pilot in the TH-57/H-58 helicopter.
250 hours of Instructor Pilot flight time in the TH-57/H-58.
Experience in the Operations Department of a USN/USMC helicopter squadron. Experience in the conduct of Developmental Testing (test planning, risk mitigation, test range coordination, etc.).
