KBRwyle is seeking a Mechanical Engineer experienced in HVAC design with emphasis on Direct Digital Controls (DDC) to support KBRwyle’s Navy Smart Grid development work. Duties include field investigations into Building HVAC systems design, translation of controls system data into equipment and point data models, development of HVAC system graphics and analytics, and development of a variety of Smart Grid features to provide end user capabilities.

Candidate will execute an engineering position within the Navy Smart Grid development team with focus on technical processes and product quality related to integration of Building Automation Systems (BAS) into the solution to achieve project objectives of reducing energy, costs, and improving mission assurance. The role covers the full scope of the contract over the Navy enterprise and the candidate will be responsible for coordinating technical activities amongst subcontracted systems integrators and Architectural and Engineering firms.



  • The candidate is required to have Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university, and have at least (7) years of experience in a mechanical engineering position specializing in facility mechanical design with focus on HVAC systems and BAS.

  • Clearance Requirement:US Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance or higher

  • This is a remote position where the candidate will work from their personnel residence and requires the candidate to provide internet connectivity and telephone service at no charge to the company.

  • The candidate is expected to proactively engage with team members and their supervisor to ensure a highly effective remote work output.


  • The selected applicant must have and maintain a license as a Professional Engineer within one of the fifty United States.

  • Candidates that resides in Virginia, Maryland or surrounds states are highly preferred.
