Human Engagement Specialist (MacDill AFB, FL)
The Human Engagement Specialist will train Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel in the art of negotiation, mediation, conflict resolution, cross-cultural communication, and adaptive thinking and leadership to maximize performance in accomplishing mission objectives in potentially time-constrained, high-stakes, ambiguous and hostile operating environments. The Human Engagement Specialist shall also perform the following responsibilities: Develop and provide instruction in adaptive thinking education and training to enhance SOF personnel ability to: think and solve problems in unconventional ways; maintain composure while responding to or adjusting one's own thinking and actions to fit a changing environment; recognize, understand, and navigate within multiple social networks; and proactively shape the environment or circumstances in anticipation of desired outcomes. Use operational vignettes and scenario based practical exercises that are open ended and ambiguous with a range of potential solutions, challenging service members to explore options and develop creative and novel approaches. Develop and provide education and training in negotiation and mediation techniques to include aspects of negotiations in a joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational environment. Provide training to individuals and groups utilizing general adult learning techniques focused on acquiring and applying adaptability and leadership skills/techniques. Teach and or develop instruction materials in leadership education and doctrine.Implement changes based on operational needs, new or emerging doctrine or practices. Assist with the development and provides overview briefings to VIPs and high-ranking leaders when required. Instructs planning, development, and implementation of Adaptive Thinking and Leadership subject matter to include: complex development and presentation dilemmas based on psychological, engagements, and negotiations theory and application, as well as future instruction initiatives. Position is contingent upon award of contractRequired Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in any field from a regionally accredited university.Minimum of 10 years of active duty SOF experience to include company level leadership positions or higher and a minimum of 1 year practical experience in negotiation engagements or cross-cultural communications. Must be capable of meeting physical demands of training with SOF including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe SOF training evolutions and the ability to assist with strength and conditioning testing and training protocols, lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 25 kilograms. Required Skills/Training: Fluent verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Standard Company Requirements: Position requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.
