This position will support fast, scalable, secure, network infrastructure for our Navy customer.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support fast, scalable, secure, highly available network infrastructure.

  • Implement, monitor and maintain networking infrastructure.

  • Configure, administer and monitor Routers, Firewalls, Load balancers, Network Switches and other Network devices.

  • Develop and maintain network related documentation.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot all network and communication devices.

  • Tune and monitor application and networking infrastructure.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues; provide Tier III/other support to customer-base.

  • Configure, operate, and maintain DISA mandated Host Based Security System (HBSS) on components for Windows, Solaris, and Linux systems a plus.

  • Monitor for and ensure Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) compliance, security, and performance.

  • Perform vulnerability scans as well as troubleshoot and fix scan issues.

  • Review scan results and provide recommendations to System Administrators and IA team.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry current issues with respect to IT vulnerabilities including researching latest findings, industry trends, and vendor-specific issues and resolutions.

  • Research and test configurations in order to determine the best solution to meet customer goals and objectives.

  • Support Information Assurance (IA) personnel to assure security architecture, design, and implementation is in accordance with DOD Regulations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field

  • Eight (8) years of Network Administration / Engineering experience; expert in network troubleshooting

  • Certification: CompTIA Security CE; CCNA (CCNP is preferred)

  • Clearance: Secret


  • System Administration experience to include Active Directory, Domain and Server Administration.

  • Demonstrated experience in Navy Information Security requirements and implementations.

  • Strong experience with supporting and maintaining VOIP systems.

  • Experience with scoping, architecture and design of new network infrastructure.

  • Advanced DNS experience; network protocols including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, etc.

  • Must meet Cyber Security Work Force (CSWF) requirements in accordance with DoD 8140 and SECNAV 5239.2.

  • Experience with Alcatel network gear preferred

  • DoD Host Base Security System (HBSS) configuration experience preferred

  • Experience with ACAS, SCVVI/SCRI, WSUS Remediation, DISA STIG and SRR scripts preferred

  • McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise, McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention and/or McAfee Rouge Systems Administrator experience preferred

  • Experience in Linux administration preferred
