This position is for an internship during the Summer 2018.

The primary purpose of this position is to assist with on-going government and industry aeromedical research projects, analyzing results, and investigating the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential life support inventions, products and problems. The job also requires working with a team of experts whose primary role is to maintain and operate the Brooks human-use centrifuge and high-altitude research chambers.

Duties include:

Monitor and measure test subject response to research protocols to draw conclusions about human performance under different environmental conditions (altitude, acceleration, thermal).

Participate in the processing and interpretation of experimental and test data.

Coordinate with other technical and professional staff.

Prepare written reports.

Provides assistance to scientists as required.

May require working evenings and weekends; may involve working with bio-hazardous materials.

  • Qualifications

Education

Required:

Candidates must have completed anMS in Physiology or related life sciences degree.

Desired Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge/experience in Human Factors, and Test and Evaluation procedures.

Possess basic computer skills, be familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint to level of independent work.

Decision-making aptitude to accurately and quickly assess situations and manage risk.
