Job Description:

Performssystems analysis. Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, firmware and network protocol problems. Designs, installs, and implements new configuration management requirements on host systems.Provides system engineering, integration and administration support for support system architectures. Performs a variety of system administration duties associated with monitoring and controlling UNIX and Windows NT/2000 computers hosting collateral and unclassified tasking, processing, exploitation, and dissemination subsystems/applications.Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of system and applications software, system components, and peripheral interfaces in a multi-platform environment (SUN, Windows NT/2000)

  • Manages the overall installation and maintenance of software and coordination with configuration managers

  • Analyzes system faults, troubleshoots, and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems

  • Assists in troubleshooting LAN/WAN network communications operations, hardware and application software

  • Interfaces with vendors for COTS software for hardware maintenance and upgrades

  • Maintains hardware and software inventory database

  • Implements computer security procedures

  • Assists in resolving non-routine network, switch, and router problems

  • Maintains documentation relevant to network administration

  • Assists in documenting software baselines, technical procedures, diagrams, operating instructions and technical recommendations Skills: Must be familiar with LAN, server, and workstation performance, maintenance, and systems requirements. Proficient in SUN Solaris and MS NT/2000 operating systems, server/client environments, software packages and LAN infrastructure configuration. Experienced in analyzing system problems, developing technical solutions, and documenting results in an organized manner. Must have experience in technical writing and diagramming. Experience in relational database management system (Oracle, Sybase). Experience with network monitoring software and tools and familiarity with Solaris/MS integration techniques. Training or experience in LAN hardware/software fault diagnosis. Requirements Level I: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information management or related discipline plus 3 years recent specialized experience; or Associates Degree in computer science, engineering, information management or related discipline plus 7 years recent specialized experience, or Major IT Certification plus 7 years recent specialized experience, or 11 years recent specialized experience.IA Technical Level IIcertification(SEI 264).Must have demonstrated practical experience in the area(s) of expertise required in the Task Order, Performance Work Statement. Level II = Level I with 3 additional years’ experience

Level III = Level I with 5 additional years’ experience
