T&E and Data Systems Analyst


This position supports tasking at NAWC-AD, Patuxent River, MD; specifically in support of the VX-20 Integrated Test Team (ITT) Advanced Development (AD) Test and Evaluation (T&E) Program. Candidate will serve as the principal test and evaluation analyst and data products coordinator for AD T&E activities responsible for all aspects of test planning, test execution, aircraft instrumentation support and test data production/distribution. Responsibilities will include assisting test engineers with planning, coordination, facilities setup/management, and execution for all test evolutions related to the AD program. In preparation for each test event, a successful candidate will generate briefing materials and attend test planning meetings to identify test support resource requirements, document test data requirements and determine the test security requirements. Candidate will maintain, prepare, format and perform pre-flight testing of all aircraft instrumentation equipment and media used to support AD test activities. Candidate will operate Windows and Linux based Automated Information Systems (AIS) to support flight test data collection, download, duplication and archiving.Candidate will assist on-site Information Technology (IT) personnel with Systems Administration (SA) duties related to maintenance and operations of the test support AIS.This position requires a motivated self-starter with a high degree of problem solving, troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills. The candidate will also be expected to participate in strategic planning meetings tokeep leadership apprised of Instrumentation and test support AIS status. This will include performing technical research and making recommendationsfor future network/AIS configuration changes to keep pace with both emerging test/security requirements and system upgrade/modernization requirements. Periodic travel to remote sites may be required.


High school graduation or equivalency certification and completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology; or completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum is required.A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in performing the foregoing position functions is required, and at least four (4) years of the total experience shall consist of performing engineering/technical functions with respect to and in support of test and evaluation, aircraft systems, avionics systems or equivalent.Candidate must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and similar computer–based productivity applications. Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.A current Secret Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 6 years is required.Working knowledge of aircraft instrumentation techniques and data collection equipment, data downloading andduplication, tape backup procedures and data archiving is highly desired. Working knowledge of standard test equipment used with LAN/1553/Fiber Optics is highly desired. Previous work experience installing instrumentation on board naval aircraft is desired.
