ABOUT THIS POSITION
KBRwyle is seeking an experienced, Systems Administrator to support the Navy Smart Grid project.TheNavy Smart Grid program team is developing and maintaining a mission-critical application for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command’s Smart Grid program. This program links in the OSISoft PI system, other analytic tools as well as custom web code for integration in the Navy’s Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) program. Simply put, Smart Grid integrates building and utility control systems, as well as AMI meters, to enable advanced facility and energy management.
The successful candidatemust have experience with VMware vSphere, Active Directory, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance, and Dell VRTX.Knowledge of the PI System, ArcGIS, and/or SQL Server is desired. He/shewill be expected to manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure. Additionally, this person will deploy, configure, and maintain VMware servers. Other duties include providing support for, both, hardware and software issues, installing and upgrading the Smart Grid solution, and troubleshooting issues related to the Smart Grid Solution. The successful candidate is expected to utilize tools and follow processes that ensure the highest quality administration is delivered.
Bachelor'sdegree in Information Technology, Computer Science,Engineeringor a similar field, and minimum of five (5) years of experience.Advanced degrees may be substituted for years of experience on a year-for-year basis.
Clearance Requirement: US Citizen with existing Department of Defense (DoD) clearance or US Citizen eligible for DoD clearance
This is a remote position where the candidate will work from their personnel residence and requires the candidate to provide internet connectivity and telephone service at no charge to the company.The candidate is expected to proactively engage with team members and their supervisor to ensure a highly effective remote work output.
Experience / Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Previous experience must include at least three (3) years administration with virtualization platforms (e.g.VMware, AWS, Azure, etc.)
Must have the ability to work closely with subject matter experts, such as system/IT engineers, software developers, test engineers, etc. tomanage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
Must be a self-starter that can work with minimal direction, in a remote environment, to complete multiple tasks
Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required
Strong background in information technology and system administration
Experience with OSISoft PI System or Esri ArcGIS a definite plus
