Radar Engineer

Description

This position is for a radar engineering position supporting an ACAT-1 program in PEO(T) at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) in Patuxent River, Maryland. Essential job functions for this position include:

  • Apply systems engineering to develop and review radar performance specifications

  • Review and prepare system engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation

  • Collect, complete, organize and interpret technical data and information relating to radar product acquisition programs

  • Provide subject matter expertise on development process, policies, procedures, and industry best practices

  • Provide radar subject matter expertise on development, integration, and engineering processes

  • Review design documents

  • Participate as a member of and/or support DoD IPT Trainer and Fleet Support Program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and IPT directed technical and business meetings

  • Provide technical analysis support and apply knowledge of DoD systems acquisitions in technical areas specified in task orders

The successful candidate will review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other documentation. The candidate will also analyze, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate software, components or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems or management information systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in relevant Engineering/Science field from an accredited college or university is required.At least six (6) years of experience in a relevant engineering/science field is required. Ability to apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to apply engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Candidate must be able to organize, demonstrate effective oral and written communications, and operate in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment. Candidate must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and similar computer–based productivity applications. Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. An active Top Secret Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 6 years is required.

Experiencewith the systems engineering technical review process in support of military programs and major weapon system development and acquisitionis highly desired.A level III DAU certification in SPRDE or INCOSE is desired.
