Engineering Technician II


Position Description:

KBRwyle is engaged in the integration, test and evaluation, installation, maintenance, configuration, and management of Area Control Systems (ACS) equipment for our Navy client located in St. Inigoes, Maryland. KBRwyle is seeking an Engineering Technician II to provide routine to moderately complex technical services to the organization. Under direct supervision, theEngineering Technician II will apply engineering principles in a team environment to perform installation, integration, test and evaluation, and repair and maintenance of Air Traffic Control (ATC) and other ACS systems.This position requires daily interaction with KBRwyle ACS Hardware team members and Government customer representatives. The person in this positionwill be required to travel up to 25 percent of the time.

The ideal candidate is technically proficient, organized and detailed-oriented with strong interpersonal skills. The position requires the candidate to work both independently and collaboratively with co-workers and customers. The following skills and abilities are desired:

  • Familiarity with military electronics.

  • Read schematics and network diagrams.

  • Follow documented maintenance and troubleshooting processes.

  • Perform basic maintenance tasks down to board-level repairs.

  • Perform system component configuration for computers, switches, routers, and related hardware.

  • Perform network cabling.

  • Perform integration and testing tasks in local Navy labs and at remote site locations.

Relocation funds are not available. Candidates should ideally live within a commuting distance (50 miles) of the job location.


Associate’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering from an accredited school or equivalent military training ; or a current A Certification for both Hardware and Operating Systems, plus a soldering certification in accordance with ANSI J-Standard and a High school diploma or equivalent.

Four years of experience in military electronic systems. Two years of experience in field service of ACS and/or ATC equipment.

The following are highly desired:

  • A certification.

  • ANSI J-Standard soldering certification.

  • Security certification.

This position requires US Citizenship and an ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
