Manager, Operational Excellence / Maintenance Management Officer (MMO)
The Prepositioning and Marine Corps Logistics Services (P&MCLS) program is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy.
We currently have a position open for a Manager, Operational Excellence .
Responsible for providing direction and management of work groups and/or units engaged in related or diverse activities for Maintenance Administration.
Advise PMCLS Program Manager on all matters relative to equipment readiness.
Provides coordination with other groups to accomplish tasks outside normal areas of responsibility.
Establishes unit objectives, work plans, schedules, and ensures resources are available for completion of complex technical projects.
Participates in the department strategic planning process develops long-term plans and ensures appropriate skills are available when needed.
Coordinates and leads activities of subordinates and cross-functional teams.
Evaluates and analyzes current work methods to foster continuous improvement.Provides technical direction as required and defined the functional areas of Maintenance Management..
May perform higher level tasks associated with an individual contributor role.
Analyzes tasks to establish needed staff personnel skill mixes to accomplish chartered work.
Evaluates and implements changes in work procedures in assigned areas.
Develops and implements new processes/procedures as needed, also perform audits associated Maintenance Admin.
Recommends candidates for employment.
Conducts performance evaluations, plans salary actions, recommends promotions, interprets and applies organization policies, and provides leadership toward resolving employee problems.
Champions, coaches and motivates teams and/or team members.Provides career development and training for subordinates.
Conducts meetings and technical presentations.
Is the primary customer interface for issues specific to Maintenance Management.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
BA/BS degree with a major study in business, management, logistics or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory/management capacity.
In lieu of degree / formal education, 18 years of related experience.
Must possess leadership skills, ability to counsel, coach, develop, and motivate staff of professionals.
Must be a US Citizen. Proof required.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
Candidates who have held the USMC MOS of 0402/0411,1310/1349, 3510/3529, or 2805/ 2891
Lean / Six Sigma Trained.
