Experienced Staffing Specialist (P)


The Prepositioning and Marine Corps Logistics Services (P&MCLS) program is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy.

We are seeking an Experienced Staffing Specialist for our Jacksonville, Florida location.

Position Responsibilities

  • Performs professional level duties to attract, screen, recruit, and select new employees.

  • Interviews and screens applicants for technical competence, applicable background and skills, individual goals and ability to fit in the organization and function effectively.

  • Conducts reference checks to collect and evaluate information concerning previous employment record. Assists managers and supervisors in selecting the most qualified candidates.

  • Coordinates employment offers with applicant and user department.

  • Coordinates arrangements for pre-employment medical examinations, travel, reporting dates, security clearances and employment processing.

  • Provides applicants with pre-employment information regarding job requirements, location, wages, benefits, allowances and employment policies.

  • Assists in gathering and preparing employment data for reports and analysis as required.

  • Employment assignments are normally involved with the hire of nonexempt/non-supervisory candidates.

  • Provides subject matter expertise to generalists and managers in support of day-to-day activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of HR experience. In lieu of a degree, 13 years of related experience.

Additional Qualifications:

  • General working knowledge of related HR disciplines.

  • Familiarity with government regulations in primary area of specialization.

  • Strong analytical skills/problem-solving skills.

  • PC application software skills, specifically spreadsheet and word processing skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.

  • Strong customer service orientation (i.e., listening, follow-through, willingness to help).

  • Flexible – ability to adapt to changing policies, procedures, priorities and/or work environments.
