The Prepositioning and Marine Corps Logistics Services (P&MCLS) program is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy.

We are seeking a Buyer for our Jacksonville, FL. location.


  • Performs various duties relating to the acquisition of supplies and non-personnel services purchased via the open market from commercial and government sources.

  • Purchases a wide variety of supplies at the lowest reasonable cost, consistent with required quality and/or delivery schedules, and in accordance with applicable government and contract requirements.

  • Performs price analysis on procurements and negotiates with suppliers.

  • Establishes relationships and confers with customers and vendors regularly to obtain product/service information such as price, availability, and delivery.

  • Selects products for purchase and prepares appropriate forms or purchase orders.

  • Inspects merchandise and approves invoices for payment and/or the return of merchandise.

  • Maintains procurement records and related databases.

  • Complies with all P&MCLS ISO policies and procedures.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law, business, contracts/purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, or related field. In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.

  • Five years of related work experience.

  • U.S. Citizen.

  • Prepositioning and Marine Corps Logistics Support and/or Department of Defense buyer and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) experience Preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of computers and software applications (Excel & Word).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
