Project Finance Analyst
The Financial Analyst/Accountant will be responsible for the accounting functions at the division level and for coordinating activities between us and Shared Services group. This includes maintenance and oversight of the Science and Space Business Unit accounting policies and procedures and project setup. This position requires an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal accounting controls within an organization. This position ensures compliance with government regulations, policies, laws and professional standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform key financial processes such as project setup, intercompany work authorizations, and project workforce.
Support Division SOX control processes and audits.
Support Accounts Payable coding and research.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Required Education/Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related Field
3 years of relevant work experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
Ability to analyze data and interpret underlying business implications
Confronts problems and develops solutions
Able to work collaboratively with other disciplines
Desired Education, Experience, Skills or Tr a ining (if applicable):
Experience working with integrated financial systems: Hyperion, SAP, Deltek Cost Point, and Cognos.
Experience working in the Government contracting industry.
Experience maintaining a project ledger.
Familiarity with both Balance Sheet and Income Statement metrics.
Understanding of principles of financial analysis and their applicability to pricing, budgeting and reporting.
Ability to develop solutions to complex problem, work in high-pressure environments and be a self-starter.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
