SCA Administrative Assistant (01020), APS-3-MSSA
KBRwyle executes a contract for the US Army to provide Maintenance and Logistics services for the Army’s Prepositioned Warstock set #3 (APS-3) at the Army Strategic Logistics Activity Charleston (ASLAC), located on the Charleston Naval Weapons Station.
Position Description (per SCA Directory of Occupations):
In addition to secretarial duties (01020 Secretary) (filing, taking phone calls, scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements etc.), this position will provide administrative support to executive staff with office management responsibilities to include budgeting, personnel records and payroll. The Administrative Assistant may be required to work independently on projects requiring research and preparation of briefing charts and other presentation materials.
01020 Secretary: This position provides principal secretarial support in an office, usually to one individual, and, in some cases, to the subordinate staff of that individual. The Secretary maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the supervisor and staff, works fairly independently receiving a minimum of detailed supervision and guidance, and performs various clerical and secretarial duties requiring knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office. Computers may exist in the environment, requiring working knowledge of certain office software programs.
This position represents secretary level of responsibility 3 (LR-3).
LR-3 uses greater judgment and initiative to determine the approach or action to take in non-routine situations, interprets and adapts guidelines, including unwritten policies, precedents, and practices, which are not always completely applicable to changing situations. Duties include or are comparable to the following:
a. Based on knowledge of the supervisor's views, compose correspondence on own initiative about administrative matters and general office policies for supervisor's approval;
b. Anticipate and prepare materials needed by the supervisor for conferences, correspondence, appointments, meetings, telephone calls, etc., and informs supervisor on matters to be considered;
c. Read publications, regulations, and directives and take action or refer those that are important to the supervisor and staff;
d. Prepare special or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant information from a variety of sources such as reports, documents, correspondence, other offices, etc., under general directions
This position is in the MSSA/Business cell of the APS-3 KBRwyle Maintenance Department. This position works directly for the MSSA and Business Manager and supports a staff of 3 Manager and 4 subordinate supervisors. The Administrative Assistant can be expected to perform all of the typical duties per the SCA description above, and specifically will have responsibilities of:
Preparing, analyzing, and submitting department deliverables to include staffing reports, contract performance reports, contract required documents, production briefing slides, and formatted data on spreadsheets.
Performs office management responsibilities to include maintaining visual management systems for the department manager
Maintaining schedules and calendars
Maintains and orders office supplies
Assists the manager and assistant manager with staffing actions, to include preparation of materials for interviews and preparation of documents for selections.
Assist in timekeeping
Other duties as assigned
Additional Job requirements:
Must obtain and maintain local base access
Must obtain and maintain Govt issued Common access card
May be required to meet Govt requirements to be deployable, to include obtaining a passport
Must be able to type 40 words per minute
High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years of college preferred towards applicable discipline
5 years’ experience in secretary or administrative assistant positions, or relevant and related positions
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered

AWRDS and Deltek experience a plus
Prior experience in maintenance or production related environments a plus.
