Responsibilities of Position:
Conducts and/or assists in health, safety and environmental audits - daily, monthly, quarterly and to the Site Safety Committee and participates in all its functions.
Performs a variety of health and safety related activities, typically at a single field location.
Obtains necessary assistance or advice from HSE Supervisor and corporate HS&E staff, insurance carriers, and fire departments on matters pertaining to safety, health, environmental and fire protection.
Conducts safety and environmental related training programs for all employees.
Ensures compliance with federal, state or local laws , ordinances and/or industrial safety codes.
Stimulates and maintains employee awareness in health and safety programs by distributing posters, handout booklets, safety bulletins, and other training aids.
Provides leadership to the site Safety Committee and participates in all its functions.
Ensures that emergency plans are adequately publicized to minimize reaction time to emergencies.
Assists supervisors in conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis and determining preventive/corrective action.
Assists supervisors in developing safe work practice, training, etc.
Develops reports from data, trend analysis, provides input to briefings..
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Position is guided by corporate safety objectives.
Resolves routine problems without assistance; requires assistance with non-routine problems.
Assists with the implementation of corporate safety initiatives, typically at a single-site location.

Must be proficient in Work, Excel, Power Point, experience with EMS&G, a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interact with employees at all levels.
Knowledge of industrial hygiene.
Knowledge of applicable OSHA, federal, state and local regulations relating to safety compliance and Safety Data Sheets.
Customer service oriented.
Experience and Education:
AA degree in safety engineering or related field or 4 years of directly related work experience with formal technical training/education in safety engineering.
30 OSHA Industrial Safety Training, a plus.
Current 40 hour HAZWOPER training, a plus.
Current CPR/First Aid/AED, a plus.
Experience in safety compliance in an industrial environment, a plus.
Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
Current state driver's license.
Ability to attain and maintain personnel security qualifications required for base access and access to Army IT systems.
Common Access Card, a plus.
Two years experience as a mechanic or performing logistics functions, a plus.
Standing - 3 - 5 hours per day.
Walking - 3 - 5 hours per day.
Sitting - 1 - 2 hours per day
Lifting up to 35 lbs. - occasionally
Bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, reaching - periodically.
Work outside and inside in non-climate controlled environments.
