Senior Systems Engineer


KBRwyle is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to provide product support for the Air Force Strategic Development and Planning Experimentation (SDPE) office.

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Support experimentation efforts to evaluate different conceptual designs

  • Collect and manage requirements from various stakeholders across the Air Force

  • Recommend technical approaches and solicit and manage feedback

  • Communicate strengths and weaknesses of various technological approaches

  • Support integration of Artificial Intelligence into communications systems

Education/Experience:AMaster's degree in Engineeringandten (10) years of experience is required, five (5) years must be systems engineering experience.Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility; eligibility for access to Special Access Program (SAP) information

Knowledge, SkillsandAbilities:Candidate should have a foundational understanding of DoD weapon system acquisition and system Life Cycle Systems Engineering processes.Position requires technical background in development of weapons system/platform avionics and/or software.Position requires:

  • Analytical skills: critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements;

  • Organizational skills: work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information;

  • Interpersonal skills: help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project

Preferred Skills

Master’s degree in Engineering with twenty (20) years of experience is preferred.Broad understanding of systems engineering

  • 10 years Systems Engineering experience

  • 10 years Department of Defense experience

  • 10 years of Radio Frequency (RF) or Communications Experience

  • 5 years of experience developing or implementing Artificial Intelligence systems

  • Command and Control expertise

  • Test Experience

  • Experience supporting Advanced Technology Demonstrators (ATDs)

  • Educational background in mathematics, physics or computer science
