Senior Compensation Specialist

Extensive working and practical knowledge of a wide variety of compensation techniques, theory, practices, methods, programs and plans including regulatory requirements, incentive compensation, equity participation programs, retirement/pension funding and similar complex compensation subjects.
Develops, implements, analyzes, and administers results for compensation; administration of job classification library; salary reviews; review of promotions and reclassifications; new business survey data mapping; analysis of onboard averages; partnering with other members of the Compensation and Human Resources teams to coordinate company-wide policies and processes; coordination of bonus and/or retention plans; participate in market surveys; analysis and reporting of compensation data.
Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. Uses experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes. May provide guidance to other team members.
Performs a full scope of activities associated with the development and administration of compensation programs. Formulates recommendations in the development of long-range compensation and benefit objectives considering such factors as corporate growth objectives, manpower requirements, financial resources and restraints, legal considerations and competitive market positions. May include application for domestic and/or international programs.
Assists other team members in training and resolution of complex issues. Provide project leadership to other compensation staff members.Performs all other duties as assigned.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of compensation experience in a government contracting environment.
Must have experience developing and participating in a variety of compensation surveys, collecting and analyzing information on the company's competitive position. Preparing recommendations and special studies on subjects such as incentive compensation, bonus plans, sales compensation, stock options and similar complex programs. Investigating and recommending resolution on classification questions and FLSA exemptions and acting as internal staff consultant for line and staff management on compensation matters.
Experience with government regulations in primary area of specialization plus strong analytical skills/problem-solving skills are required.
PC application software skills, specifically excel spreadsheet and word processing skills are required.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
Flexible – ability to adapt to changing policies, procedures, priorities and/or work environments is required for this role.
