Systems Engineer


KBRwyle is a recognized leader in product development, deployment, and systems integration. This position provides an entry level systems engineer the opportunity to join our Hybrid Satellite Control Network team in Colorado Springs, CO. The Hybrid Satellite Control Network Contract is a government contract tasked with the integration of the legacy AFSCN antenna with the Remote Block Change core electronics in support of the Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN). Systems Engineering activities will be both locally executed in Colorado Springs, CO and at 7 remote tracking sites around the world.

Performs a variety of engineering work in the development of an operable system capable of meeting requirements within imposed constraints including mass, cost and schedule.

Designs and/or analyzes subsystem interfaces to ensure that subsystems are integrated and work together to form a viable complete system.

Performs functional analysis of a system to ensure it meets performance criteria and mission constraints and to feed the analysis results back to the subsystem development teams.

Usually is an engineering generalist with knowledge in several different engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical and aerospace.

Prepares design sketches and general equipment design of simple parts, subsystem interfaces, system layouts, etc.

Performs relatively simple engineering and mathematical formulas and computations.

Prepares analysis of technical data and information resulting from tests, studies, analysis, etc.

Assists other technical personnel in the preparation of technical reports, graphs and charts.

Performs drafting, liaison, administration and other related engineering duties, as required.

May participate as a member of a team; primary contact is immediate supervisor.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Position Scope:

Entry level.

Performs assignments requiring the use of standard engineering principles, techniques and processes.

Works on problems that are well defined, routine, and frequently repetitive.

Requires guidance and assistance from management and policies and procedures.

Solutions require review.

Applies a narrow range of inputs to job performance, primarily from immediate supervisor.

No significant customer influence.

Decisions normally have minimal effect on schedules or projects.

Communication typically occurs at the same level within or outside the organization.


BS degree in engineering or applied science with no experience. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics and Aerospace Engineering are areas of focus.

Must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship.
