This position will manage the development of technical security solutions to ensure they comply with customer requirements and can be delivered at a competitive price. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Designs integrated physical security systems for commercial, industrial, and government installation.

  • Formulates and recommends procedures to resolve engineering and/or technical problems regarding operations, staffing, and equipment utilization on a specific project or projects.

  • Provides technical assistance and instruction relative to design problems and the resolution of construction or operating difficulties.

  • Conducts special studies and investigations related to project activities and recommends changes as appropriate to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet changed or new requirements.

  • Analyzes project requirements and provides information and instruction for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, designing, and modifying equipment as appropriate.

  • Plans and coordinates the work of other engineers and technical personnel, with completed assignments subject to minimum review of overall results.

  • Trains, directs, and assists the efforts of other personnel, as required, to fulfill the objectives of the assignment.

  • Serves as organizational consultant; leads multi-discipline or cross-functional team(s).

  • Ensure any technical risks, assumptions, exclusions, and specification deviations are identified.

  • Supports the development of technical solutions for bid proposals

  • Supports the development of bid responses and associated cost proposals

  • Serves as technical liaison between functional areas (e.g. procurement, installation team, customer, business development, etc) to ensure technical solution meets customer’s requirements.

  • Supports modeling and simulation of physical security solution designs during design phase

  • May supervise lower level engineers.

Performs all other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

  • MS in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or other related field and 11 years of related experience, or BA/BS in related field and 15 years of progressive, related experience.

  • Professional Engineer License

  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible for a government Top Secret security clearance.

  • Six years of physical security system design experience

  • Five years of physical security project management experience

  • Three years of physical security design modeling and simulation experience

  • Demonstrated creativity and ingenuity in developing physical security system solutions for demanding customers

  • Outstanding domain expertise in high-end, mission critical physical security solutions.

  • Familiar and current with relevant physical security industry regulations.

  • Understands current and emerging 3rd party physical security technologies

  • Experience with Microsoft office tools including Visio and MS Project

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate with proposal team and sales personnel

  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and uncertainty

  • Ability to work as part of a multi-national, geographically dispersed project team

  • Excellent communications/presentation skills

  • Successful design, installation, and delivery of enterprise physical security solution for US government customer

  • Successful design, installation, and delivery of enterprise physical security solution for International customer

  • Understanding of government, commercial, and international sales process and sales strategies
