Description

The Systems Administrator is a key member of a project utilizing agile software development methodologies. Responsibilities include management of systems within the PMO’s current test infrastructure, ensuring compliance of all systems based on Air Force Security Guidelines and Protocols; manage virtual infrastructure, hypervisors, virtual switches, and virtual networks ensuring connectivity to the backbone network structure; Mitigation of system and network security vulnerabilities; and support local technical team regarding software and business requirements.

The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to DoD standards, and requirements.

This individual will assist the team with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning and maintenance of Client and Server grade operating systems. These activities include the definition of needs, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of research/lab staff in executing, the mission.

This individual is accountable for the following systems: Linux, Apple and Windows systems that support the infrastructure; Linux, Windows and Apple, Application systems that support Asset Management. Responsibilities on these systems include SA engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual uptime.

Qualifications

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience is required. A High school diploma or GED and nine (9) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement.

A Master's degree with three (3) years of experience is desired.

Experience/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

  • Active DoD Security Clearance (minimum of Secret required)

  • Active Security Plus Certification

  • Extensive knowledge of Windows and Linux

  • Experience supporting LANS, WANS, vLANS, network segments

  • Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation, TCP/IP sub-netting, routable and CIDR non-routable IP addresses, and Network Address Translations

  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP command line tools used for troubleshooting

The ideal applicant is desired to have the following:

  • Active CISSP Certification

  • Development and maintaining DIACAP/RMF documentation

  • Knowledge of Solaris and Mac Yosemite Operating Systems

  • Experience with Routers/switches and Firewalls

  • Significant experience with security and application of system STIGs

  • Significant experience with vulnerability scanning software. Experience managing virtual infrastructures

  • Experience working with Windows Active Directory Services and LDAP

  • Extensive experience in all systems engineering aspects of designing and implementing systems, with an emphasis on intelligence systems, cybersecurity, information interoperability, data flows and distributed operations

  • Scripting or programming background (e.g. power shell)
