ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Classification Management Specialist will provide security support operations, on-site at the F-35 Joint Program Office located in Arlington, VA.

  • Ensure completion of Original Classification Authority (OCA) annual training for the Program Executive Officer (PEO)

  • Develop, maintain, update and distribute all F-35 collateral and Special Access Program (SAP) Security Classification Guides (SGCs)

  • Coordinate SCG change or clarification requests submitted by the Government or prime contractor, obtaining input from appropriate SMEs, drafting, and submitting responses

  • Lead, with government oversight, the Classification Management Review Board

  • Conduct classification reviews, making determinations and redactions as needed

  • Maintain the Security Operations Manual, ensuring the Public Release process is current

  • Review Public Release requests (articles, videos, photos or other media submitted to the F-35 Public Affairs Office) ensuring they are marked appropriately and do not contain classified or sensitive information

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position may involve routine CONUS travel.

Local candidates preferred, relocation package not available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant specialized security experience in creating and maintaining Security Classification Guides (SCGs). 7 years minimum, if no degree.

  • Top Secret Clearance and eligibility for access to Special Access Program (SAP) Information

  • Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Knowledge of the following:

  • National Industrial Security Program Operation Manual (NISPOM)

  • DoD 5205.07SAPManual(Volumes 1-4)

  • Executive Orders 13526 and 129589

  • JAFAN series security requirements

  • Information Exchange Guides (IEGs)

  • Project Security Instructions (PSI)

  • Cooperative Program Personnel (CPP)

  • Standards of Operating Procedures (SOP)

  • Foreign Visit System (SPAN)

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

  • Excellent briefing and technical writing skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Independent self-starter, proactive and professional assertive

  • Available to work before/after typical office hours if needed
