Lead Programmer Analyst


Job Duties

Serves as Lead Programmer Analyst, for a modeling and simulation focused Analysis Team, providing support to the Center for Army Analysis (CAA). The Lead Programmer Analyst leads the team in developing frameworks of analysis including actions to design and conduct primarily air and missile defense analysis using the Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM) and the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) in support of the Army's Total Army Analysis (TAA), Strategic Portfolio Analysis Review (SPAR) and other Headquarters Department of the Army, Army Fires (Field Artillery and Air and Missile Defense) functional, and Joint Fires applications. The Lead Programmer Analyst will guide junior Team Members in the development of AFSIM "Framework" modules, initially at the unclassified level. As AFSIM development matures, the lead Programmer Analyst will work with the Government and the KBRwyle analysis team to transition AFSIM to a classified environment. The Lead Programmer Analyst will lead and participate in discussions with operators of fires (air and missile defense systems, field artillery systems) and other Subject Matter Experts to help ensure quality data inputs and representations. The Lead Analyst must demonstrate initiative and flexibility to meet the needs of the HQDA's suspense's while maintaining modeling and simulation integrity. The Lead Programmer Analyst will develop and recommend tradeoffs in modeling decisions, weighing both the timeline of the study and the fidelity of the modeling required. The Lead Programmer Analyst will lead Team efforts in applying data mining techniques to extract proper information from the simulation results and report the results in presentations suitable for Army senior leadership.As provided and available, the Lead Programmer Analyst will incorporate Allied capabilities in analysis. The Lead Programmer Analyst will ensure the development of presentation material focused on expanding the breadth and scope of the analysis team's efforts through pursuit of AR 5-5 Studies and similarly competitive analytical approaches.Deliverables will include EADSIM and AFSIM output reports, spreadsheets, data reduction, PowerPoint briefings, Information Papers and White Papers suitable for Army senior leadership review.


Required Skills & Experience

BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math and 15 years of experience required. Experience with the AR 5-5 Studies and Analyses Program is required. Experience with research, analysis, and modeling specifically with the EADSIM and AFSIM models, is required. Experience in a supervisory role in a modeling and simulation environment is required.

A TOP SECRET clearance is required.

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience performing Army combat system modeling for the Army with emphasis on AMD Systems.
